About

My photography journey began in the late 1990s when I started documenting my travels throughout Europe and, later, more colourful and culturally diverse areas such as India, East Africa and the Middle East. When film photography gave way to digital photography and the artistic freedom to “develop” an image moved from photographic labs to personal computers, my passion for photography grew even more.

Whilst I am not a “professional photographer” with formal qualifications, I have run a successful photography website selling high-quality prints, downloads and wall art in my spare time for many years. I have regularly photographed various occasions such as weddings, parties and events for clients. Now based in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, I love landscape and travel photography, and I try to travel as much as possible with my Nikon D780, tripod and a varied assortment of Nikon lenses and Lee filters.

Photography is how I best like to relax and connect with the natural world around me. I aim to create unique works of photographic art depicting the beauty of New Zealand and Australia’s diverse natural landscapes and environments. I enjoy trying to create moody and atmospheric images, and I like to utilise extended exposure photography techniques to create ethereal, almost dreamlike images where possible.
