Originally from Yorkshire, it took a lot to move to New Zealand, away from those idyllic rolling hills to the city life of Auckland. The outdoor lifestyle and laid-back vibe here in NZ were something I had to sample for longer than just a holiday. Using Auckland as a base, I set off in my campervan most weekends to explore, camera in hand and a warm meat pie in the other.
I love the vastness of New Zealand's wilderness and the diversity in its terrain. You can see it all here, from geysers and glaciers to beaches and fjord lands. I always say it's hard not to take great photographs in New Zealand as it bursts at the seams with natural beauty!
Photography, for me, is about getting out into the wild and exploring new places. There is no better feeling than packing a bag for the day, getting your boots on and heading out with your camera. I love the preparation and planning that goes into a new location. Maps, weather forecasts, sunrise, sunset, tides - All these variable parts of nature that can add so much to the already beautiful landscapes here in New Zealand.
