Franklin’s photographic journey began over 50 years ago when he was given his first 35mm camera and took black and white images on film. With a darkroom in the basement, he learned how to develop the film and use an enlarger to produce prints. Later on, he managed a camera retail store and went on to work for prominent photographic names such as Canon and Polaroid. Eventually, he progressed into digital photography and currently uses a combination of still and video cameras, both from Sony.

Franklin currently lives in Auckland, New Zealand. He travels extensively and documents the places he visits with photographs and video. He is also a musician, playing and recording under Torn Chorus.
