My name is Kourosh Ahmadi, and I was born in Iran. I am Iranian, British, and New Zealander. I believe that the world belongs to me, but I don’t belong to this world as I am just passing through. My religion is love and respect, nothing more, nothing less, and yes, I am not in any way perfect at all. I did all my academic education in the good old UK. Due to my engineering education, industrial experience, and lecturing background, I started moving around North America, South America, Central America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa until I arrived in New Zealand. I believe that Dante Alighieri Italian philosopher wrote Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise passing through New Zealand.
I always say New Zealand is the back end of the world and the beginning of heaven. Being a student of life, I am not sure where will I be next. However, whatever country I have lived in, I am living, and I will be living. I will do my best to be the soul of that place or nation, irrespective of all the nonsense we humans have created. Throughout my travelling, I have experienced that by taking photos, I could express my mood and, most importantly, present the beauty of the country I am in. Furthermore, I hope the audience can see and experience more through the third eye. To feel the ambience, the contrast of nature and realise how damaging us humans have been throughout the world, what we could have and what we have created!
I learned photography by trial and error. I want to think that the people who are kind enough to look at my photos try to look deeper through my camera lens, look through a third dimension where the natural beauties and harshness of the place could be seen. Perhaps I wish I could show photos through my little imagination for everyone to see more than I try to present. Finally, I am humbled by your generosity to spare a moment of your valuable time to look at my photos. Please feel free to teach me and give me your guidance and opinion, however good, bad or ugly. To change or rectify my mistakes with this in mind, Rumi once said, “when I was young I wanted to change the world, now I am older, I just want to change myself”, and that is what I am just trying to do so please help me to do so. Thank you, Kourosh
