Since I was a kid, I already loved nature, mountains and trees, and it must be because I grew up in the Cordillera region of the Philippines, where these were visible everywhere. Migrating to Aotearoa, New Zealand, was love at first sight. I wanted to capture everything I saw in every place I went on camera, which I did, but the result did not reflect the natural beauty of the places I visited.
Until a few years ago, when I went through a challenging time, I took into morning walk as a sort of therapy. That’s when the drive to take photos better experimented with editing the images in different ways, and my desire to learn more about photography started. I have lived in Auckland for the last 19 years, and though I love it dearly, I can never get enough of the South Island, especially from the Mackenzie basin down to Milford Sound.
The north and the south island in New Zealand are in contrast, but they are both gorgeous, and I hope to make someday a story of my photos, especially Cornwall Park in Auckland, which served as my sanctuary during one of my challenging years. I hope I will be able to transport you to the beautiful places of Aotearoa, NZ, with my photos.
